Abstract
A Four-Year Research and Demonstration Project to Address Ways to Improve the Employment Practices Covered by Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
This project investigates how Title I of the ADA affects employment practices of private-sector small, medium, and large businesses, and ways to improve employment practices covered by the ADA. The research identifies employment practices that have challenged implementation of the ADA, and identifies interventions that can be used by private sector employers and people with disabilities to address these practices. The project examines employment policy and practices that enhance both the hiring and retention of workers with disabilities. It is administered by the Program on Employment and Disability in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University, in collaboration with the Washington Business Group on Health (WBGH), the Lewin Group, and the Society for Human Resource Management.
